We're Worried
Hi! You're probably--wait, that's how I started the last one.
Hi! And welcome to the first new strip that isn't a guest comic in almost a year. Seriously, the last one was like four days before Christmas last year. But finally I'm back! Or at least I seem to be back. Graduation isn't for another twelve days, so we'll see.
It's rough doing all this site overhaul stuff. Although really the doing is pretty easy, but keeping track of everything I want to change and making me think it's good enough to put on the Internet is harder. Like where to put the link button to the store. And that I have to make a store just for Polytopes stuff, for the button to link to.
Harder still is trying to live with postmodernism. I mean, media that's self-referential and self-aware can be good, and meta-things can be good, but they usually aren't because they don't do anything but be self-referential or meta. We really, as a culture, need to get over the "Ooh, shiny!" of these concepts and start reserving their use for when it accomplishes some other goal.
Take this comic, for instance! It uses the concept of "meta" to set up a "hardly know 'er!" joke. That's...good, right?
The only thing I'm not sure of is what to do with all those dangling loose ends. Probably just leave them lie, knowing me. We'll see, though, eh?
