Forced to Act Out
Damn and delectables! Have you ever seen a Polytopes this gigantic? No you haven't. Number fifty-six here is the largest, longest, most intensively Bill & Ted-centric comic I've ever, ever made. Hopefully this is a record that will stand unchallenged for a long, long time.
Things you should know, in a commentary sort of way:
- The background in the first three and last three panels was drawn from scratch again. Considering that, I think I did pretty damn good.
- That blurb in the window at the Circle-K says "Soda!" There was no way to make that look good, and I'm in no mood to tweak it to normalcy at the moment.
- The other sign in the window has a tiny, tiny visual pun sort of treat, for those of you who love Bill & Ted, movie quotes, and stupid word puzzles all at the same time.
- Congratulations, by the way, on finding the only place in the universe with an outlet for that intersection of interests.
- Billy the Kid is played by a trapezoidal prism (or whatever you call a square-base pyramid with its tip cut off), while a previously unknown cylinder plays the part of Napoleon. Buddha fills in for both Socrates and Death, while Brock or some other cube(s) play(s) the parts of Abraham Lincoln and Station. Freud, appropriately enough, is played by Otto.
- Did you see the rock they're standing on, in Hell? You can't tell me that rock isn't fucking awesome.
Oh and also. I've been watching a lot of Family Guy lately. I don't know if anyone else put together that a way-too-long sequence that heavily makes reference to or fun of some element of pop culture smack between two halves of an awkward, abrupt conversation with almost no transition between any of the constituent elements is as stealing from Family Guy's style as you can get, but in case you hadn't thought of it I guess I saved you the trouble of calling me out on it later. It's not something I'm proud of, but I assuage my guilt by telling myself I pulled it to a different, more Polytopic place. Polytopical? Poly...something.
Anyway.
