Spiraling Vortex Normal

I had some entirely different commentary for this one, but it got swallowed up in the Great Doop Debacle of 2007. Therefore, instead of talking about how I could probably make some money off a comic if I took it more seriously, I'm going to talk about the comic and making it and all this other stuff.

I didn't actually expect anything with Dido and Ike dimension-hopping to go anywhere or have more than the one strip, but it appears that we're switching off pretty regularly between their adventures and the goings-on of the usual household. But more on that later!

For some reason I had an obscenely difficult time getting the gradient to do what I wanted, which was essentially keeping the colors on either side similar in their own panel, but still giving a neat blend effect centered on the portal. The shared word-bubble on the right is also painful to my eye, but there's literally nothing I can do about it: for some reason I uploaded the image way early and now there's nothing I can do to fiddle with it. It stands as it is!

Which is alright by me, I suppose. It'll be fun to get back to characters squabbling and joking with each other. I'm especially looking forward to Otto and/or Dido meeting Rondo. It's okay to tag-team with the Buddha, but getting Rondo in on it? Oh man!

Anyway! By now we all recognize the ubiquitous Blue Spiraling Vortex, which has appeared often enough that it should be considered its own character. The pair on the left are copied from the end of the last strip they were in, and otherwise the strip is all new content.
